Magic of Modern Art Moments

Hi!

On April 6th, the first ever Magic of Modern Art Exhibition opened at the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art in Marietta, Georgia.

This opens up a whole new avenue for fulfilling our mission—a world where everyone everywhere experiences the magic and wonder of modern and contemporary art. It builds credibility and sets a precedent for other museums to follow suit.

Here’s the link and a particularly apt quote from the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art website:

Marietta Cobb Current Exhibition

To answer the question of “How does one learn to experience Modern and Contemporary Art?,” this exhibition offers everyone the opportunity to become knowledgeable and passionate about the less-traditional side of fine art. Featuring artists from Jamison’s book and beyond, this exhibition seeks to instill the understanding that the ability to appreciate any type of art is innate to all human beings.

In case you’re in the area or know someone who is, the exhibition continues through June 16th. There will also be a special evening event at the exhibition called The Art of the Cocktail on May 10th from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.

One of the most wonderful aspects for me was meeting several of the artists in my book whom I’d not met before in person. Being able to talk without technology and share a hug with each one was sublime!

Although I was looking forward to doing the Magic of Modern Art Tour, I wasn’t prepared for how deeply touched I would be. I could actually see that new ways of experiencing art were opening up for each person.

I want to extend a huge thank you to Madeline Beck, the curator at The Marietta Cobb Museum of Art, and to all the artists who showed their art: Cynthia Cooper, Joshua Kight, Aloma Marquis, Larry Oliverson, Rohitash Rao, Anthony Schmitt, Corrina Sephora and Jamele Wright, Sr. My art was in great company! I would also like to especially thank Meryl Sher, Carol & David Winkler and Corrina Sephora for their financial support to the exhibition.

Love to all!

P.S. Naturally, while I was in the area, I also opened up new possibilities for The Magic of Modern Art by meeting with museum staff at other museums. More about that later!

P.P. S. The audio version of The Magic of Modern Art is complete and will be available in the near future!

Best regards,
