Magic of Modern Art Moments #5

Happy New Year!

Thank you so much for reading these newsletters. Special thanks to those of you who respond with comments and encouragement.

Even though the time has flown by, 2024 marked a momentous year, including lots of firsts. Here are the highlights.

The first ever Magic of Modern Art Exhibition, Magic of Modern Art Tour, and Art of the Cocktail took place at the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art in Marietta, Georgia. The show ran from April through mid-July.

I conducted the first Magic of Modern Art Tour to be sponsored by an organization at the Blanton Museum of Art here in Austin, through the Israeli American Council in conjunction with Shalom Austin.

At the Bellevue Arts Museum in the Seattle area, we held the first Magic of Modern Art workshop, specifically tailored so as to include both the museum docents and members of the community.

I led our first conference workshop at the Texas Art Education Association. I must add that the entire conference was a delight and an excellent way to meet like-minded people.

2024 marked the Invention of the Magic of Modern Art VIP Tour and I conducted the first one in Seattle at the Frye Museum of Art (for the lovely couple who hosted my husband and me during our stay in Seattle).

There were also several milestones.

In addition to retail outlets, I personally had printed 500 beautiful copies of The Magic of Modern Art. Thanks to the demand, it became necessary to order a second printing of 500 in 2024.

I (finally) finished recording and have published the audio version of The Magic of Modern Art. It’s currently available on 17 audiobook platforms.By the way, this means that the audiobook is available in every library that uses Libby or Overdrive! *

If you haven’t been on our website, The Magic of Modern Art, lately, check it out! It has had a facelift and has a newly designed Docent Programs page. The VIP Tour page is in the works, as well.

Special thanks to people whose support made possible the events in 2024: Corrina Sephora, Madeline Beck, Michal Ilai, Ofir Nevel, Carl Gellert, Barbara Frost, and Kate Casprowiak-Scher. Thanks also to my phenomenal team, including: Rubi Holder, Taylor Kroff, Brian Schnurr, Harold Nicoll, Vicki Lunell, John Handley, Aubrey Prunty, and (last but not least) Carol Winkler.

We look forward to another great year of spreading the magic of modern art!

With gratitude and warmest regards,
