Magic of Modern Art Moments #3

Greetings! Welcome to the latest edition of our quarterly newsletter. So much is happening in the world of The Magic of Modern Art!

Audiobook: The audio version of The Magic of Modern Art is complete and is now available through these seven retailers, so far: Nook Audiobooks (Barnes and Noble); Spotify, Google Play; Libro.FM; StoryTel; Kobo, Walmart; and Audiobooks.com. It will ultimately be available through thirty-eight online stores.

Austin: I will be conducting a private Magic of Modern Art Tour for Israeli and American Jewish women at the Jack S. Blanton Museum of Art on August 8 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Michal Alai, Senior Israel Educator for Shalom Austin, requested I partner with her to create this opportunity for community building through art. If you are interested in participating, please let me know.

Speaking of the Blanton, we are thrilled to announce that my book, The Magic of Modern Art, is now being sold through their gift shop. You might not know that the University of Texas’ Blanton Museum is one of the largest university art museums in the United States.

New York City: I’m very excited about my upcoming trip to New York City in August! When I heard about the Jenny Holzer installation at the Guggenheim, I jumped at the opportunity to go see it. (Jenny Holzer, a pioneer in the use of text in visual art, is my all-time favorite artist. I’m a big fan of words in art. My own work took off when I began to combine words and images.)

Of course, the opportunity to spread The Magic of Modern Art while in New York City didn’t escape me! I’m in communication with the directors of Flushing Town Hall and CultureLab LIC to deliver public workshops for them while I’m there.

It should go without saying that museums, Broadway shows, fabulous restaurants and time with special people are also top priorities!

Seattle Area: On October 20th, at the Bellevue Arts Museum, in Bellevue, Washington, I’m conducting a workshop for the public. Time and details TBD. On October 22nd, I’m leading an all-day workshop for the 40+ docents there.

San Antonio: On November 21st, I’m leading a workshop at the McNay Museum of Art in San Antonio, Texas. It’s for San Antonio area art teachers and will include a Magic of Modern Art Tour plus a hands-on art project that they can take to their respective classrooms.

Galveston: At the end of November, I’m leading a workshop for the Texas Art Educators Association Convention.

I’m always open to new opportunities to expand the reach of The Magic of Modern Art. If you know any people I should talk to, please let me know!

My extraordinary social media expert has been creating wonderful posts on Facebook and Instagram. Please follow The Magic of Modern Art on both!
